Diabetes & dementia Controlling type two diabetes could delay the onset of dementia in its early stages.
American women with type two diabetes have a 30 percent increased risk of suffering poor mental function than those without the disease.
Since the number of people suffering from type two diabetes has increased due to the rise in the numbers of overweight and obese people, the risk of early dementia has also increased.
Eliminate white sugar, white flour, white rice (all the "whites) and limit carbohydrates to those which are "complex," meaning they contain fiber, vitamins and minerals, ie fruits and vegetables and exercise daily to avoid this devastating disease. Prevention of diabetes is critical to your future health!
In addition to the cognitive decline risk, there is also a risk of damage to eyes, heart, kidneys, and nervous system for those with diabetes. Tight blood glucose control in those with diabetes is essential.
