Drug Test - Herbs
I have a concerned customer that wants me to be sure that Ech/Golden Seal, will not show up if her son-in-law who is a pilot, is tested for drugs. Correct me if I am wrong. I don't think it will show up if the guy is tested. Thanks -Jan

Golden Seal is used for cleaning out drugs in the blood and urine. So he will be safe, especially since he is probably taking it for his immune system. -Gwen

These herbs will not show up. It is usually only narcotic or opiate type plants that will set off alarms in drug tests. Most people use goldenseal to try and flush drugs from their system before a drug test. I don't encourage this but they keep buying it for that. -Kimberly Balas

Yes, Golden Seal will show up on a drug test. The lab will test for this herb specifically due to so many using Golden Seal to hide the fact that they are doing drugs. So most labs look for this herb. He can use Oregon Grape in place of Golden Seal. It is good for infections and cleansing the liver. -Suzanne

I agree these are foods, not drugs and do not leave drug residue. All of the stories I hear about herbs found during drug tests make me wonder who is telling such tales. I personally took Fen Chi just prior to a drug test and nothing came up. When I hear these things I try to track them to their source and have never spoken to a lab tech who found drug residue from herbs. -Karen A Jensen

It is not the fact that one is taking herbs that is the problem, it is the herb the lab is looking for that most who take drug tests to hide pot and other illegal drugs use to mask. The labs look for this herb. The herb is Golden Seal. This is the herb labs are looking for. And it is a real fact. -Suzanne |
