Dust Mite Cleaning Program
FOR DUST MITES:
Cover everything you lay or sit on in dust proof covers--plastic if you are not well off, and there are some expensive cloth type ones available for those who demand such--cover mattresses, pillows, etc. AIR PURIFIER: One of you choice either HEPA or electrostatic. Get the junk out of the air. VACUUM SWEEPER: MUST have a HEPA filter. Change as instructed. CURTAINS: Wash monthly. CARPETS: Resolve is one brand, Capture the other. NOT the wet stuff, but the pow-der. Vacuum floors, spread powder as suggested, wait 45 minutes, vacuum again. When I say vacuum I mean first from front to back, then from left to right, and then on the diagonal so it looks like your vacuumed first a plus sign and then an X. All that powder will come up. Any thing left in the carpet will continue to dry--Saturday Evening Post magazine had an article that said Capture was proven to dehydrate dust mites. Vacuum beds--covers, quilts, etc. at least once a week. If you have one of those vacuums with a beater bar use that on the bedding and watch the junk come out. When you begin to get almost nothing, you are then able to drop back to once a month. No vacuum you can do that with? Try 45 minutes in a dryer, you can use high heat for cottons, delicate or no heat for knits. You are beating them to life, not drying them after washing them.
These things work for my family!
