Electrolyte & Thyroid
I am a runner and every time I try to use an electrolyte replacement (like the e-gel energy goo) it seems to mess with my thyroid. I get symptoms like extreme fatigue, black outs, nausea etc a few days later. is there a connection? What could I use instead? -Sherrie

It sounds to me like blood sugar symptoms.
I would suggest you use a product like Red Beet Root Formula, NSP Stock #870-0.
Red Beet Root Formula [Vital Nutrition] s designed to replenish nutrients the body might need while fasting or during periods of weakness. The glands may require additional nutrients as the body uses energy stores.
This is specific for times of Fasting OR for when you are expending large amounts of energy (as when running, skiing, etc)
You also may want to be sure to be taking a good multi vitamin supplement, such as VitaWave Liquid Vit & Min, Stock #3332-3 and Mineral Chi, Stock #1818-3. Something else that would be excellent to boost your energy, etc would be Thai-Go Juice, Stock #4095-1. Free Amino Acids, Stock #3664-6 and 'Recovery' drink, which would be an electrolyte replacement, Stock #3662-3 would be good additions also.
A program like that above would keep you better regulated for running without depleting your stores.
Hope that helps you . . . . -Georgiana |
