Thyroid - PTH

Does anyone know what to recommend for PTH. This is an elevated parathyroid hormone. She has osterporosis as a result of this condition. She already has 3 fractures. She has fractured her hands, foot and hip. She is desperate for an answer. Jeannette

Parathormone controls calcium ion concentration in the extracellular fluid by controlling calcium absorption in the intestines, excretion via the kidneys and release of the calcium from the bones. Ninety percent of all calcium loss is from the bowel and ten percent excreted in the urine. The 10% that is excreted in the urine is controlled by PTH which also causes the excretion of phosphorous. Calcitonin is secreted by the thyroid gland and has the opposite effect of PTH. Together PTH and Calcitonin regulate the calcium phosphorus ratio. If you lack this balance then the PTH will shift them out of the bone and decrease excretion from the distal kidney tubules. The thymus also assists in this process of phosphorylation.

The first area to look at here is the gut. If 90% of calcium is excreted through the bowel then the key is to get it to absorb there. This is done with Small Intestine Detox on an empty stomach 3-4 times per day. Add B12 and folic acid to attach to lipoproteins so they can be polarized through the intestinal wall via magnesium. At the proper time the calcium will then be severed from the lipoprotein when needed for hormone enzymes and anti-body formation. Enzymes in this whole function are key so try Food Enzymes with meals and add the THIM-J for assistance to the PTH. -Kimberly
