Eye - Retina Detached
My husband had to have emergency surgery done Wed. evening to reattach the retina in his left eye. Both eyes have weak retinas and there is a hole in his right retina as well. Please help with any advise as to what may help strengthen his eyes so he does not lose his sight. Thanks. -Lisa

Dear Lisa, My husband had both of his retinas detach. They tried to laser the retina on his good eye, to prevent it from happening, but it still did. This happened after having cataract surgery on both eyes about 18 months before. The doctor said that you are more susceptible to detached retinas after having cataract surgery. I now have him on lutein, or Perfect Eyes (I switch off) Vitamin C, Thai-Go, Citrus Bioflavonoids, and whatever other supplements I can get him to take (He is not very compliant). He goes for a 6 month check up in Sept., and this is the longest that he has gone without any problems. Good luck to your husband, and encourage him to take his supplements, they do work. -Kathy |
