Recommendations for Successful Fasting
The day before you begin your cleansing fast, and for two days afterwards, it is best to limit your intake of food to only fruits and vegetables. At least avoid high stress foods such as meats, dairy products, sugar and nuts of all kinds. At night, take an enema or colonic to empty the bowel completely.
Beginning Your Cleanse
The day you begin your cleanse you may eat a light breakfast and lunch meal (unless you are doing the Liver-Gallbladder Cleanse or the CLZ Cleanse, which begin when you awaken in the morning--follow those directions exactly). Do NOT eat an evening meal. You will fast for the next 3 to 10 days. No solid foods will be taken, limiting yourself to fruit juice or vegetable juices. Freshly pressed is best, bottled and frozen juices are second best. Herb teas, Herbal Beverage, and Herbal Punch may also be included and are a nice variation from the juices. Vitamin and mineral food supplements should also be included as you are cleansing and nutrients need to be replaced, especially if Bentonite is being used. It may be helpful for you to stay away from the kitchen during food preparation and meal times.
Throughout the Cleanse
It is suggested that you take Fasting Plus every few hours or as symptoms of headache, light-headedness, dizziness, shaking, weakness or hunger arise. You may take as much Fasting Plus as you need to help eliminate these symptoms. It is also essential to keep the bowel open even though no solid foods are being taken so you should use a bowel cleansing herb combination like Cascara Sagrada or LBS II. Adjust the amount as required to have several bowel movements per day. You may need to take anywhere from 2 to 12 capsules per day. It is also of utmost importance to take a daily enema or a colonic to keep the newly released toxins moving out of the body. Ask your Herb Specialist how to take a proper enema or colonic.
Remember that you have spent many years accumulating toxins in your body through environmental pollutants and food intake. Many people experience one or more of these symptoms as their body begins to eliminate these toxins: headache, light-headedness, dizziness, shaking, weakness, vomiting and diarrhea. If you used ""street drugs"" in the past, you may experience some of the effects of those drugs again. Get as much rest as possible if you feel tired.
Breaking the Cleansing Fast
Remember that your stomach has shrunk and the digestive system has been at rest. It is very important, therefore, that you include Food Enzyme Digestive Aid and/or Proactazyme with each meal and eat very lightly-only one cup of food at a time. Have lightly steamed vegetables or a baked potato with a little olive oil or real butter and herbal seasoning. The butter or olive oil is necessary to stimulate the flow of bile once again. A cup of vegetable broth may be added if you wish along with some stone ground whole wheat crackers.
Continue this type of diet. You may add raw or cooked fruits and vegetables at this point. Include a salad with you noon and evening meals, if you wish.
You may begin adding some protein to your diet. For breakfast have a poached egg on whole wheat toast. For lunch, have natural plain yogurt and fruit. It's important to add P D A at this point to begin digesting your protein properly. Symptoms of bloating, burping or gas after eating are signs of food not being properly digested and that PDA should be added.
You may begin adding what you desire. Remember to stick to the natural, unsweetened foods, limiting your intake of red meats, preservatives, chemicals, etc.
