Uterine Contractions

I've read it before but cannot find it; what is recommended herbally to help the uterus along in starting contractions and labor; the question was asked of me from someone who is 3 weeks past her delivery date and her first baby was late and over 9 lbs. Thank you. -Paula

There is nothing that is guaranteed to start labor. Intercourse with nipple stimulation and female orgasm is about as reliable as anything. Blue Cohosh has been tried. Watch the blood pressure as this herb can elevate blood pressure. Some people add essential fatty acids...flax seed and evening primrose... Chlorophyll can help to speed labor up. I have written a book about herbs in labor and delivery (and it's advertised through the forum). -Judith

Has she been on 5-W? The herbs in this formula help prepare for labor. Dong Quai which is in this can help stimulate contractions. -Chottsie
