Okay, the professional has to sign up with an initial $1000 order (I'm assuming QV, not dollar amount) in order to come in at the Manager level.

How much are they required to order each month after that? I hope not the same amount or that maybe there's a grace period (like the Sunshine 500 program?). Might be tough (okay, impossible) for the little Barber shop in town to do that each and every month.

I have a follow-up question depending on the answer.

Indeed in order to remain a manager the new manager has to have 1000 group QV every month, with the exception that s/he is allowed to "pend" (fall below the 1000 QV requirement) three times (I think per calender year.) After three pends s/he will fall back to distributor status. However, after that s/he only has to achieve 1000 QV again to become a manager again. The Policies and Procedures, available at NSP's web site, spell out the details so I recommend that you confirm what I am saying for yourself because I am shooting from the hip here. For the Policies and Procedures look under Members and then Library then Forms and Documents, or click on or copy and paste this shortcut http://www.naturessunshine.com/contentserver/GetMiscFile.axd?id=PolicyProcedure.pdf.)

The idea, for the Business in a Box program, is that the professional will already have a network in place sufficient for him/her to continue meeting the manager requirement. It will be up to you to work closely with the professional and staff to insure that they are making use of the full potential of their practice/network. For instance, at first they will not be aware of all of our products and how to use them, so it will be your job, as the "herb specialist in resident," to help them build their herbal business to the point where they will be a well-grounded manager.

Even if they don't maintain their manager status in the beginning, you and they will still benefit from the sales and sign ups, just not at the manager level of compensation. It takes time to grow any business, and I'm sure that this one won't be any different, except that due to their network, you should reach your goals sooner than if you started from scratch. That is the genius of the Business in the Box program.

One caveat that I should mention: If you are not currently a manager, you should be aware that if someone in your downline breaks out as a manager before you do, you have 6 months to become a manager yourself, or else you stand to lose them from your downline. They will move up the line to the next manager above you and become their first level. The idea behind this is, I believe, that a manager can not be properly supported by a non-manager, so they will move up to the next manager's first level where they can get the support they need. That's just something to be aware of in case you find yourself in that position. Again, check the Policies and Procedures manual for the details about how this works, and to see if there have been any changes since I read it (admittedly a while back.) In other words, don't just take my word for it. Check with the source. I just wanted to make you aware of this.

Okay, thanks. You can fall below 1000 QV twice in a calendar year, but in those months you only get compensation as a distributor, not a manager.

Which brings me to my next question. I am referring to the little Policies and Procedures booklet and I don't SEE any extra compensation listed for Managers in the several charts. In fact, I frankly don't see any benefits for a Manager, even tho the booklet lists both "higher percentage volume rebates on personal sales" and "manager overrides on the sales of each first-level manager s/he promotes" on page 9.

Also, those of us who are going to be Managers by virtue of our Sunshine 500 participation are going to be Managers for this purpose as well, right?

Thanks!

Patricia
