My daughter got a second BURMESE KITTEN. BROWN. Her first one, grey, who is older and bigger, really gave this one a bad time. So she bought the little one to me to look after. until she can sell it. Now he is a dear wee fellow, but a time waster and I sure can do without that! I have too much to do already!
HE HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN TAKEN AWAY FROM HIS MOTHER TOO SOON!
HE "KNITS" AS MY CHILDREN ALWAYS CALLED IT! + SUCKS ON YOUR SKIN AS HE WORKS HIS FRONT PAWS AND CLAWS EITHER SIDE OF HIS LITTLE MOUTH!
Now that would be OK to a certain degree EXCEPT his tongue can make my skin quite raw and sore, and once he starts he does not want to stop! And little bites go along with that! Just thought he probably does that when he gets really tired! And that is several times a day. It is midsummer here and I do not want to have to cover my arms or neck! My arm got quite sore last night and I had to put Irish Moss Cream on to soothe it. I had thought of buying a dolls bottle and letting him suck on that surely he wiil stop doing it after awhile! Or will he?
His coat is dull apart from on the back halfway down to the tail..
HE IS NOT THAT HEALTHY..
HAS GOOEY EYES.
I THINK THAT ABOVE HIS EYES IS SWOLLEN.
HE FEELS LIKE HE IS TOO HOT TO ME.
HE CRIES WHEN GOING TO THE TOILET, AND FOR A TIME BEFORE.
I have given him Oregan Grape through a dropper and he is lots better but there's more that that to him! My daughter had him to the vet [cost $100.00] he gave her parasite tabs and stuff to put in his eyes. Its nearly all gone and the eyes are better but still discharging.
When she first got him he just seemed to sleep stretched out. We put that down to jet lag but it wasn't only that I realise.
He is so sensitive when I give him medication afterwards he goes and hides on a chair under the dining table and ignores me when I call to find where he is.
Now I know there are a lot of Animal Specialists on the forum, Does someone know how to deal with the "knitting and any herbal suggestions otherwise for his health? We do not have the cat formula in this country.
When my husband was alive, we had over 18 farm cats for the rats.and mice. I had them all put down. They were full of Toxoplasmosis.Toxo is not easy to get rid of. I knew this one had it but it is now clear and I used a rife machine to kill my dose yesterday There is no animal feed around now so hardly see a rat or mouse. There are other cats from the district that travel over the property [I only have the house and section now.] and males that squirt. I saw how this little one [male] was interested in some of the plants down the side of the drive yesterday, so I guess the local male cats have been marking their territory! Many thanks for the help to come, Valerie

Hi, I am a new distributor with NSP; but, I also have an animal rescue. Your little kitten sounds like he or she has a urinary tract infection (UTI) or maybe a upper respiratory infection (URI). The crying when going to the litterbox is definitely a sign of the urinary tract infection or a life threatening blockage. He or she is a little young for a blockage. Both a UTI and a blockage will produce a fever. UTI can spread to the kidneys and needs treatment. If the kitten has an blockage, which would be rare, she/he can die quickly. Did you vet know that the kitten cried while urinating? If so, he/she should have prescribed antibiotics. If he/she knew this and did not, you may need another vet. If a cat is crying when urinating, he/she needs to see a vet.

With an Upper Respiratory Infection, which is very common in young kittens, infected eyes and sneezing are the too biggest symptoms. Sometimes there will be coughing. This, too, can kill a kitten. Eventually, if URI is the problem, your kitten will stop eating and drinking and die. Vets routinely prescribe a simple antibiotic for URI. If the cat is dehydrated, he/she will have to be hospitalized and given fluids. Gently pinch a little skin on your kitten's neck and release it, if it is slow to return to its normal position, it is dehydrated. Is the kitten drinking and eating?

I do not know much that can be done with the suckling. When a cat is removed from Mom too soon, they will do this. Where did you get this kitten, a pet shop? Pet shops are notorious for having sick animals.

The symptoms you explained can indicate potentially life-threatening problems. I would call your vet asap.

Hi Valerie,
I agree with SE Healing - This definitely sounds like infections. I would give the kitten JP-X and Hydrangea if it happens to be UTI. I would try Silver Shield in it's eyes and internally for the infections. There's no taste, so should be easy to administer.

If the poor little thing still sucks after it's well, you could try a touch of orange bitters where he likes to suck - that should discourage that habit.
