Super Algae
This is supplied from my research for my ADHD packet.
Green Foods: Dark green leafy vegetables, chlorophyll, blue green alga, kelp, spirulina, kamut, wheat grass and barley grass and other supplements can provide us with the tools to fortify the immune system. Used in conjunction with magnesium, calcium, and other trace minerals, green supplements support the body's basic nutritional needs.
Chlorophyll, called "concentrated sun power" is very effective against bacteria and can actually be more effective than Vitamin A, C or E as an antioxidant. It also helps to alkalize blood pH.
Sea vegetables such as kelp, Spirulina, and blue green algae, provide a high source of micro-nutrients. Kelp sparks vital enzyme reactions in the body and supports the thyroid. Spirulina is considered one of the premium green superfoods. It is a concentrated whole food source of phyto-nutrients, supplying a rich mixture of carotenoid, chlorophyll, enzymes, complete vegetarian protein, B-Vitamins, and a newly discovered anti-viral compound called calcium Spirulina. Blue green algae is nutrient dense. Small doses can provide biologically active vitamins, minerals, trace elements, amino acids, simple carbohydrates, enzymes, fatty acids, carotenoids and chlorophyll. Its protein content is of a type that may be more easily broken down and assimilated by the body than the proteins in meat and vegetables. -Lisa Canon |
