Super Antioxidant

Protecting the Body from Free Radicals
Super Antioxidant is a combination of antioxidant nutrients and herbs which can help protect the body against free radical damage. More and more research is coming forth showing that free radical damage is responsible for premature aging, cancer, heart disease, arthritis, cataracts, psoriasis, macular degeneration, allergies and numerous other de'-generative conditions. Antioxidants not only help to prevent this damage, they may also give the body a chance to effect repairs to damaged tissue. Super Antioxidant contains vitamin E tocotrienols, lycopene, alpha lipoic acid, rose hips, milk thistle and turmeric.
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin found primarily in the oily portion of whole grains, seeds and beans. Vitamin E tocotrienols, which are in this supplement, are derived from palm oil, rice bran and wheat germ oil. Their unique molecular makeup allows them to scavenge free radicals even more efficiently than vitamin E tocopherols (the form found in foods).
Alpha lipoic acid is known as the universal antioxidant because it is both fat and water soluble. Therefore, it is easily absorbed and transported across cell membranes. This property allows it to penetrate every portion of the cell in the fight against free radicals. An abundance of research has shown that it has the ability to inhibit replication of HIV and other viruses. It can also protect the liver and other organs, remove heavy metals, and prevent damage from radiation. It works cooperatively with vitamins C and E.
Lycopene is a carotenoid which gives red fruits and vegetables their deep red color. The lycopene from tomatoes is used in this product because of its effective antioxidant properties. Its long-chain molecular structure is more effective at quenching free radicals than any other carotenoid. It has also been linked to promoting optimal prostate function in men.
Rose hips are a natural source of vitamin C, carotenoids and flavonoids. In parts of Europe rose hip syrup has long been a popular tradition for keeping the immune system strong enough so infections don't start. The bioflavonoids found in rose hips strengthen tissue integrity and may help to lessen or prevent free radical damage.
Milk thistle contains a chemical substance called silymarin, which are flavonoid-like phyto-nutrients that exhibit protective properties to the liver. Therefore, the liver can fight off damaging toxins. It stimulates the growth of new cells, thereby promoting healthy self-repair. For this reason it is now recognized as one of the most beneficial herbs for protecting the liver against chemical poisoning.
Tumeric, a spice found in curry powders, is a close relative of ginger. It has long been used in medicine in India, but is now finding acceptance as a medicinal herb in the West due to recent research. It also protects liver tissue and may support healthy cholesterol levels in the body. Scientists in China and Russia who have tested turmeric on animals have found it to promote bile secretion, increase appetite, lower blood pressure, alleviate pain, stimulAtet-he uterus, and reduce inflammation and edema.
Recommended Use: A daily antioxidant supplement may help slow oxidative damage caused by sunlight, environmental toxins, exercise, stress and other factors. An antioxidant supplement is particularly important if you are exposed to air or water pollution, X-rays, radiation, drugs or chemicals of any kind. If you feel you need this type of protection, the recommended dosage is two capsules with two meals each day.
