Dog - Puppies

I give my bichon who's 10 month 1/2 an Acidophilus a day, and Chlorophyll in her water every day. and every other day, a Flax Seed Oil capsule. she constantly itches her skin, making it bloody. and she often has stomach cramping, which makes her cry. any suggestions on what else i could give her? she also has no energy at all. Many times this can be a food allergy to corn or just a lack of essential fatty acids. I would give her Lecithin capsules, one 2 times a day. Try to change her good. Usually contact with some grasses, fleas and diet will cause the itching and allergy reactions. Just one flea bite can cause intense reaction and itching. -Suzanne

Be careful of giving dogs garlic. They can get garlic toxicity which can lead to red blood cell disorders (also avoid onions for the same reason). Many dogs can not tolerate flax oil, you can try extra virgin olive oil, borage, fish oils (not cod liver). My dog has a yeast infection in her ear and does not let me put ear drops in. She is being given 6 capsules of Probiotic Eleven a day(dosage per her homeopathic vet for a 70 lb dog). She has a grain intolerance, as well as many food allergies, so I have to home cook for her. The homeopathic vet also did a hair analysis and found many toxic minerals, so she was given lymphatic drain, kidney detox, and liver detox. The key for your puppy is to get her diagnosed, as it could be food allergies, contact allergies (carpet, dryer sheet/fabric softeners, cleaners, irritable bowel syndrome, to name a few. -Marilyn

Our puppy had red, itchy skin (poodle/chihuahua mix)along with bloody stools and we gave him first Slippery Elm to calm/soothe intestines/bowel and added black walnut and garlic (to kill parasites/worms) to his food. Whenever his stools get too hard, he gets the Slippery Elm. We also give liquid MSM in his water for skin/coat. He is doing great now! -Kathy O.
